Dog Abdominal Pain: Symptoms and Remedies for Stomach Aches In Canines

Dog Abdominal Pain

Dogs are very hyper animals and since their actions are not normally monitored very closely, stomachaches may occasionally occur due to several reasons. Some of these pains are caused by eating grass, consuming too much food, or just eating the wrong kinds of food.  As a result, the pain can be treated differently in every occasion.

Dog Abdominal Pain Symptoms And Remedies

  • Stomach pain caused by too much food ingested may be remedied with a bit of hydration and some physical activity.
  • Pains brought about by the type of food a dog has eaten may be solved as soon as the food is digested and should not be given again to the animal.
  • Dog stomach ache remedies are often easy to come by except in situations that are more than the simple stomachaches.
  • Gastric torsion is one of the abdominal pains that require the attention of a vet. Typical symptoms of the condition include crying, refusal to eat, vomiting, arching of the canine’s back, difficulty breathing, and shaking. This condition is often found in dogs that are deep-chested.
  • Liver disease is another serious condition that causes abdominal pains in dogs. Usual symptoms include gastrointestinal flare-ups, vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite, and whimpering. The pain is brought about by the swelling of the canine’s liver which can lead to brain dysfunction, seizures, and changes in the dog’s behavior.
  • Presence of ulcers in the stomach of the dog. This is where the mucous membrane of the stomach is damaged and is often inflamed. This condition is often brought about by the presence of possible medications like ibuprofen, NSAIDs, and aspirin. This condition may often be linked with kidney problems or even stress in part of the dog.

Sometimes it may seem like the dog is just crying or being sad. However, when the dog refuses to move or when he or she refuses to eat, consultation with the vet may be required especially in situations that go far beyond the regular digestive stomach problems.
